H19 Little Leaf Cucumbers
These little cucumbers are great for pickling. They fit neatly into jars without needing to be sliced.
Early Jalapeño, Green
Green jalapeños are picked before the fruit has matured to red. They have a fresh, forward heat and are best added to dishes after cooking. Or, for a healthier jalapeño popper, try stuffing them with a mixture of cream cheese, cheddar, and bacon and grilling them in foil until tender.
Jenny Lind muskmelon
This funky little melon is an heirloom variety called Jenny Lind. Jenny Lind was a famous singer more than 100 year ago. This sweet little melon is named after her. You might sing too after you taste it!
Kentucky Wonder Pole Bean
An heirloom pole bean with fairly long pods (7-10 inches). They're sweet and tender, making them a good choice for a number of recipes. These beans are delicious lightly steamed and tossed with a lemony dressing.
Kohlrabi might be a somewhat unusual-looking vegetable, but its flavor is pleasant and familiar. Related to broccoli and cabbage, kohlrabi has a similar flavor to both. Try this twist on spinach-feta pie using kohlrabi.
A mix of lettuce varieties grown together, our lettuce mix offers variety for the garden row and your salad bowl. Use in fresh spring salads.
Magda squash is Mid-East style squash like our Lebanese White Bush. Its flavor is sweet and a little nutty. Try stuffing them with a mixture of bread crumbs, olive oil, herbs, and cheese and baking until tender.
Delicate Maxibel beans are French heirloom variety. Slender pods and crisp, sweet flavor characterize this variety. Cook these beans gently and serve with crumbled cheese or a light dressing.
Find a variegated bag of leaves in your share? If they taste a bit sharp and spicy raw, you've got a bag of mustard greens in your hand. Cooking them softens their flavor. Try them with garlic and onion, or even bacon!
A sweet, bright herb with notes of pine and citrus that resembles oregano in appearance. Marjoram pairs well with seafood or root vegetables.
Mint is a lovely herb that works well in a number of dishes, sweet and savory. Pour hot water over a handful of mint leaves to brew a refreshing tea, or toss it with diced cucumbers and yogurt for a cooling summer salad.
This herb is often used in pizza sauce, but has many other uses as well. It's commonly found throughout Greek and Italian cuisine and pairs well with meats, vegetables, and white beans.
